3705. Moyle, E. H. March 8. Crushers with vibrating jaws. - In a rock crusher having a frame formed of two side plates 2, these are flanged at 4 for bolting to a suitable support, and tied by the trunnion shaft 10 of the fixed jaw 28, a sleeved bolt 9, and the trunnion shaft 11 of the vibrating jaw. The vibrating jaw 19 is operated by an eccentric 7, link 14, and rocking lever 12. The material is first crushed between the straight upper portions of the removable corrugated face-plates 23, and finally ground between the smooth curved portions at the lower end of the jaws, which are here vertically concentric with the pivot 11 of the vibrating jaw. An adjustable transverse thrust bar 29 is arranged to break under excessive strain and can be adjusted to vary the position of the fixed jaw by screws 32, which may be operated by bevelgearing.
