Abstract

2904. Forgrove Machinery Co., and Grover, F. Feb. 23. Separating by passing through graduated apertures.-In apparatus for sorting out bullets &c. above a certain size, they are placed on an horizontal revolving disk so as to be free to pass under a ring spaced above the surface of the disk, and thence by a second revolving conical disk to a delivery shoot. The bullets 8 are fed from a hopper 7 by means of a travelling belt 9 and shoot 10 on to a revolving disk 3 having screwed to it, with distance-pieces 16, a ring 14, so as to leave spaces 17 through which the bullets may pass. Below the disk 3 is a disk 18 revolved by worm gearing 13 and a belt 21 within a stationary circular fence 19 having an opening leading to a shoot 23. A portion of the disk 18 around the disk 3 is provided with a conical surface 18x, down which the bullets roll and are conveyed to the shoot 23.
