Abstract

945. Reason, H. F. Jan. 20. Boxes. - A switch - and - fuse service - box, adapted to receive tumbler switches 11 and fuses 12 of standard design, is constructed of cast iron with a hinged lid and centrally-disposed leading-in mouths 4 for the conductors 21, 22, and is provided with a false base 10, to which the switches and fuses are secured, and with a shaft 13 journaled in the case and having jaws 15 to engage the handles of the tumbler switches, the shaft being operated by an external handle 14. An insulating-fin 17 is disposed between the switches and fuses, as shown, and bridges a contact-coupler 18 so as to'separate the terminals 20. A double-pole tumbler switch may replace the two single-pole switches shown; or three single-pole switches may be used so as to constitute a triple-pole switch.
