Abstract

24,266. Eaton, F. E. Dec. 18. Compositions containing chalk, calcium phosphate &c.-A mixture of 86 to 98 per cent of calcium carbonate (chalk), 1À98 to 12À5 per cent of calcium phosphate (powdered bone), and 0À02 to 1À5 per cent of silica (sand), together with a suitable binder, is used for forming dolls' heads &c. Suitable binders are: (1) a mixture of 1 quart of glue solution, 1 teaspoonful of Venice turpentine, and 1 pint of a strong solution of alum, or (2) a mixture of a solution of casein, water-glass, and gum arabic.
