22,996. Pittaway, A. Nov. 24. Renewable calks; shoeing-appliances.-Relates to angular cogs which overhang their screwed shanks. To provide for the removal of the shank b when the head of the cog breaks off short against the surface of the shoe, two grooves c, Figs. 2 and 3, which finish against the overhanging surface of the cog, are formed in the shank. The grooves may increase in depth from the point towards the head. Tools constructed as shown in Figs. 7 and 8, to engage the grooves may be used for effecting the removal.
