Abstract

Reinforced-concrete pipes. - Lengths of reinforced-concrete pipes are provided at the ends with cast-metal junction plates 1 which have undercut grooves on the edges to bind with the concrete 7, and lugs 6 for bolts to connect together adjacent lengths. The outer face is recessed at 5 to receive jointing-material, and the nuts 3, sunk in the recess, are screwed on the reinforcing-bars ; a rib 4 projecting from the inner face is embedded in the thickness of the concrete. The reinforcing- bars, connected. at intervals by transverse wiring, and with the plates 1 attached, are placed in a mould or machine and concrete is cast around them.
