Abstract

21,322. Akt.-Ges. der Maschinenfabriken Escher, Wyss, & Cie. Oct. 23, 1913, [Convention date]. Nozzles.-In steam or gas turbines having guide-channels I, II, III, &c. of rectangular section and cut off obliquely at the outlet, as shown developed in Fig. 2, the portions 11, 8 of the blades a, b, c, &c. are made to diverge in the plane at right-angles to the paper, so that the outlets have the form shown in Fig. 9, the object being to render the issuing steam or other jets of rectangular cross-section at the plane C D of the rotor, as shown in Fig. 7. The application to a De Laval nozzle is shown in Figs. 10 and 11, the portion 24, 24<1> of the nozzle being made diverging as at 27, 31 and 28, 32.
