Abstract

20,114. Fisher, W. Sept. 24. [Addition to 17,551/13.] Combing-machines. - In a dabbing - brush mechanism as described in the parent Specification, in order to eliminate side pressure on the guides of the brush slide, the bearing connecting the dabbing-brush slide to the connecting-rod is in the same vertical plane as the bearing connecting the rod to the crank. The crank-shaft 4 is carried in ball or other bearings 2, 3 in a boss d, the pulley 5, fast to the shaft, surrounding the boss. The crank-pin 4<a> is connected to the rod 6 by a roller bearing 9, and the rod 6 is forked at the other end to embrace the dabbing-brush slide 8, a roller bearing 12 being introduced round the connecting-stud 7. The slide is reciprocated between guide-strips a<1> secured on the bracket a, a cover a<2> being also provided. The crank-shaft may be situated below the stud 7.
