Abstract

Connecting-rods.-In a mowing or other machine of the type in which allowance is made for twisting, by the screw joints between the ends and the body portion, the socket b of the crank end a is split at d and drawn together by a screw f. The screw passes through a slot g in the body portion, the slot being sufficiently large to permit twisting of the rod in the socket. The set-screw is tightened up when necessary to compensate for wear of the parts.
