Abstract
18,233. Alphand, E. Olivier-. Feb. 24. Bag filters; decanting.-In a filtering-element comprising a pocket of fabric surrounding a prismshaped frame, the fabric is stretched vertically by means of a bar 42 which clamps the fabric between the bar and,the top of the frame. As shown, the frame comprises uprights 33, cross-bars 34, 35, 36, 38, and a wire 37 wound round the bars 35, 36. When the pocket is drawn over the frame, the edges are jammed between two rods 40 held together by clamps 41. The bar 42 is held in position by bindings 43<a> which surround the fabric. Wedges 29, 43 hold the element in position. The filtered liquid passes away from the interior of the bag through a pipe 25. A modified arrangement is shown in which the pipe 25 leads the liquid away at the top, the apparatus being applicable for separating liquids of different densities, such as oil and water.
