Piston packing.-Refers to packing for the pistons of internal-combustion and other engines of the type in which two split tings a, b are placed side by side and one end of one ring is welded or otherwise secured to one end of the other ring at a point c. The invention consists in arranging the free ends of the rings as expanded to lie outside the cylindrical surface of the rings as contracted. The ends of the rings may be lap-jointed.
