Abstract

Stoking; clinkers, removing.-In a gas-producer of the kind described in Specification 24,329/13, [Class 55 (i), Coking &c.], means are provided for disintegrating the clinker and cinders and for continuously breaking and loosening the fuel in the combustion zone to provide passages for the air for combustion. As shown in Fig. 1, the conical water-sealed cinder chamber at the bottom of the producer is provided with a central rotary crushing-block h of oblong shape and provided with a helical rib y as shown in detail in Figs. 2 and 3. Between the block h and the conical wall t of the producer is provided a fixed spiral member i having ribs z and arranged in such a manner that a tapering space t<1> is formed between the block h and the member i. Blocks of cinder entering the space t<1> at its larger end are forced by the rotary block h against the ribbed member i and crushed, and the crushed material falls into the space between the lower part of the block h and wall t and is discharged through the upwardly inclined discharge conduit s. The fuel in the combustion zone is stirred by an arm k attached to the block h and provided with a projection u.
