Abstract

10,599. Verschoyle, W. D. April 29. Door holders.-A door or like holder comprises one or more bell-crank levers, one arm of each of which is adapted for automatic engagement with a headed stud on the wall when the door is opened, the other arm of each being adapted for engagement by a plunger passing through the door, so that pressure on the plunger releases the levers from the stud. As shown, a pair of levers p are mounted in a casing f on the door and have hooked ends adapted to ride over the bead c of the stud d against the action of a spring q. The other ends of the levers engage a slot or rece-s in a plunger passing through the door. The plunger may be provided with a shoulder to prevent it from being drawn through the door, in which case its end acts against the levers, and the slot is omitted. The sides of the stud dare curved to act as a buffer if the door should be opened violently.
