Abstract

9102. Bloxam, A. G., [Chemische Fabrik Griesheim-Elektron]. April 9. Azo dyes, forming on the material; printing. -Cotton goods are dyed or printed by impregnation with a solution or paste containing a nitrosamine salt and an arylide of 2:3-oxynaphthoic acid, and development by passage through a bath of a weak acid or an acid salt. Examples are given of a dye-bath containing an alkali salt of the nitrosamine from p-nitraniline, 2:3-oxynaphthoic anilide, caustic soda, and Turkey-red oil, and of printing pastes containing 2:3-oxynaphthoic anilide, an alkali salt of the nitrosamine from p-nitraniline, m-nitro-p-toluidine, or p-nitro-o-anisidine, caustic soda, sodium ricinoleate, and tragacanth thickening; the developing baths specified are dilute solutions of sodium bichromate or acetic acid; red or bluishred shades are produced.
