Abstract
8936. Binder, G. Jan. 21, [Convention date]. Rotary - chamber apparatus. - Drying-apparatus for laundry or other use comprises a casing which contains a rotary reticulate chamber B, an air-heating chamber E at the rear, a fan H, and an air-screening chamber L communicating with the chamber E. The fan draws air in through holes in a door K, and from the rotary chamber, and after removal of dust, lint, &c. by the screens L<2>, L<3>, the air passes mainly through an opening 0 to the heating-chamber and so to the drying-chamber, whence it continues its circuit. Another smaller portion passes out through an opening Q to an exit chamber M, so that the air is gradually renewed. When it is desired to open the door R of the casing to empty and recharge the drying-chamber, a lever-actuated door S is swung into a position where it closes the opening 0, so that an outrush of hot air is prevented.
