8386. Krauss, F. Sept. 17, 1913, [Convention date]. Valves controlled from a distance.-For lamps provided with t w o burners, one burning gas and the other a mixture of oxygen and gas, the conduits to the burners are controlled by the oxygen supply acting on the conduit valves. The gas and oxygen are supplied respectively to two compartments separated by a flexible diaphragm b ; the upper compartment is fitted with a doublearmed lever h carrying valves c<1>, f<1> controlling passages c, f to a white flame burner k and an oxy-hydrocarbon burner closing the passage n, a. spring z normally closing the passage f. When oxygen is supplied through the lower compartment to the burner n, the diaphragm operates the lever h to close the valve e<1> and open the valve f<1>.
