Abstract

6730. Krupp Akt. - Ges., F. April 17, 1913, [Convention date]. Ball joints; couplings with bolts and flanges. -The pipe ends are provided with grooves which register to form a dovetail-sectioned annular recess, which is open to the interior of the pipe, and the sharp edges a<3> of which enter the packing. The packing-ring C, originally of rectangular cross - section, assumes the form shown, projecting into the interior of the pipe. The pressure of fluid in the pipe tends to tighten the joint round the edges a<3>.
