Pulping-engines.-In pulping or kneading engines for the treatment of waste paper, wood pulp, esparto, rags, &c., in which water and steam are admitted with the material, the stationary and rotary disintegrative members 6, 1 are provided with renewable wear-resisting tips 8, 3 of a hard material such as tool steel or high-carbon steel fitted to the members by means of rivets, studs, screws, &c. The members 1, 6 may be cast on the shaft 2 and casing 5 respectively.
