Abstract

784. National Advertograph Co., Rice, H. A., and Patterson, C. G. July 3, 1913. Printing-surfaces.-A printing-roller for use in a web-printing machine or paper-holder with printing - apparatus attached, as described in Specification 15,328/13, has the type formed on or permanently combined with flexible rubber bands 31 having at each end fasteners or hooked portions 32 for engaging with a hooked bar &c. 33 on the roller. The bands are adjustable laterally on the roller, and several bands may be placed side by side. A yielding backing 34, preferably of sponge rubber, is placed between the printing-portion of the band 31 and the cylinder 18.
