29,161. Elliot, J. P. Dec. 17. Coating - compositions. - A composition for preventing rusting or oxidation of bright metallic surfaces consists of a mixture of 3 to 6 oz. of oleic acid, ¢ to 2 oz. of stearic acid, 2 drams of oxalic acid, and 1 gallon of a solvent which may be benzene, mineral naphtha, benzine, petrol, &c. The oxalic acid is dissolved in rectified spirit of wine and added to the other ingredients dissolved in the solvent.
