Piston apparatus for discharging r e c e p t a c l e s . - The piston d of a mustard extrusion vessel is formed of elastic or compressible material, t a p e r e d towards the piston-rod, and made of slightly larger diameter than the interior of the vessel, so that when pressure is applied to the rod, the piston takes a slightly convex form, but straightens again when the pressure is released. The mustard is thus withdrawn from the orifice c after some has been discharged. One or more slots or grooves h may be cut in the piston to facilitate bending, or hollow recesses may be formed above and below the piston for the same purpose.
