661,868. Moulding tubular ink reservoirs. CIA URUGUAYA DE FORMENTO INDUSTRIAL, SOC. ANON. Jan. 7, 1949 [Feb. 9, 1948], No. 3673/48. Divided out of Complete Specification of 651,481. Class 87 (ii) A reservoir for a ball-point pen a; described in Specifications 651,481 and 651,509, [both in Group XV], is made by placing a tube of material, i.e. a synthetic resin such as celluose aceto-butyrate, in a die which fits the tube over portions of its length but has at least one enlarged intermediate portion, and expanding the tube within the enlargement. As shown the die 5 comprises two similar parts 5a, 5b hinged together at 6 and having semi-circular grooves 7a, 7b which fit the tube when the parts 5a, 5b are folded into face contact, and enlargements 8a, 8b. The tube is closed at one end and hot fluid under pressure admitted at the other end to render the tube plastic and expand it within the parts 8a, 8b. After setting and removal from the die, the tube is severed between the enlargements.
