Abstract
27,681. Brewer, R. W. A. Dec. 1. Cylinders, pipes for. -The admission pipe is made with an "expansion chamber" C and is of such a shape that the backflow of explosive mixture when an admission valve is shut is directed upwards towards the surface B, by the pieces G and towards the other pair of cylinders, and thus prevents gas from passing out through the carburettor. Draining- grooves are provided in the pieces G. The admission pipe may be cast in one with the exhaust pipe as shown, or put in contact therewith by means of strips of metal.
