Body attachments, buoyant.-An appliance of the kind comprising a casing having two similar buoyant rectangular pillow - like compartments connected by an intermediate shoulder portion with a narrow transverse slot to receive the head of the wearer, has the intermediate parts of the two compartments 1 connected by straps 7 near the waistline, so that on immersion the entire buoyant body rises to concentrate its sustaining-force about the head and shoulders of the wearer, as shown in Fig. 1. The straps 7 are adjustable and engage buckles 8 on the compartments and, when the appliance is in use, engage under the armpits of the wearer. The compartments are tilled with kapok and serve as a pillow when folded and enclosed in a casing ; or they may be used as a mattress or cushion.
