6433. DebottÚ, V., DebottÚ, H., and DebottÚ, C. March 13. Buoys and buoyant fittings; belts.-A life-saving mattress is stuffed with buoyant material such as kapok and is divided into two unequal parts. The smaller part 1, Fig. 2, is provided with an aperture filled with a removable plug 3 and can be used as a life-belt, while the larger part may be used as a raft. To enable it to fit persons of various sizes the part 1, Fig. 10, may be split, as shown at 8, and provided with an encircling strap 9. The belt is also provided with a body strap 6 and a receptacle 14 for food &c. The part 2 may also be fitted with an encircling strap 9, which can be grasped by persons in the water.
