Abstract
27,100. Richards, C., and Richards, A., [trading as Richards & Sons, C.]. Nov. 25. Lathes for pointing coach-screws &c. have the work carried by the tailstock and the cutter head carried by the spindle which is fed and retracted by linkage operated by two treadles alternately. The tailstock spindle has a graduated adjusting-wheel r<1>, Fig. 1. The treadles o, p act through the linkage n, m, g so that each treadle advances and retracts the spindle in turn. The most advanced position of the spindle is such that stops h', Fig. 2, contact with a plate h<2>.
