Abstract

25,713. Helson, G. A. Nov. 10. Dust-collectors; washing.-In dust-collecting apparatus particularly for use in street cleaners, wherein a blower to which water is supplied discharges the dust-laden air into a tank, alternately inclined baffles are provided in the discharge pipe to spray the water and mix it with the air. The air may be led from the tank to a chamber having an outlet provided with a dust screen. Fig. 1 shows such apparatus, in which the fan 2 is supplied with water from an upper tank 6. The air and water are mixed by the baffles 11 in the discharge pipe, and are deflected by a baffle 5 downwards on to the water in the tank 4, which is provided with a sludge outlet 13. The upper tank 6 is continually supplied with water from the tank 4 by a pump 8. The air passes up through a passage 12 into a chamber provided with a deflector 16 and a filter screen 14.
