Abstract

25,584. Conway, W. Nov. 8. Clips, pivoted jaw.-A clasp particularly for use as a collar fastener comprises a base-plate 4, Figs. 1 and 6, having a stud 6 and a hinged clamping-jaw 8 provided with an extension or tail-piece 9. A member 1, Fig. 5, having a slot 2 and a spring tongue 3, slides in guides 5 on the base 4 with the stud 6 projecting through the slot 2. As the member 1 is moved up or down by means of a finger piece 13, the spring tongue 3 bears against the extension 9 or the jaw 8 to open or close the jaw. The stud 6 is engaged in the shirt band and the collar ends are placed between the base 4 and the clamping-jaw 8, which are both provided with knobs 12 to prevent the ends from slipping
