Abstract
24,289. Devereau, S. W., and Devereau, J. W. Oct. 27. Spray carburettors. - In exhaust-heated carburettors wherein the mixture is electrically heated at starting by a resistance coil, the coil is so arranged that the mixture flows through it and in direct contact with the wires. The ribbed mixing-chamber 3 is heated by exhaust gases in the passage 12, around an extension 14 of which a perforated air-inlet 15 is provided. The resistance coil 5 is placed in an insulating- lining 6 having projecting arms 7 which fit into recesses in the flanges 8, 9. The float-chamber may be exhaust-heated. The Provisional Specification states also that the lining may be of thin metal which becomes heated.
