Abstract
23,666. Drury, W. Oct. 18. Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; air tubes and chambers.-A cushion or pneumatic tyre is formed with two longitudinal walls 2, Fig. I, which, with the outer walls 1, form three chambers 5 of which the central one extends from the crown of the tyre to or near the base. The inner walls may be moulded separately from the outer walls and subsequently joined thereto, the outer edges of the walls forming the tread; or a separate tread 3 may be attached. The walls may be splayed outwards as shown, and the chambers may be in communication through holes 6, Fig. III. The inner edges of the walls 2, which lock with the edges of the walls 1, may extend to the rim or leave a space 7 before tightening-up the rim parts.
