Abstract

Hinged valves.-A two-way hinged valve for use in apparatus for intermittently interrupting a flow of gas of the type described in Specification 29,977/10 is provided with adjustable valve faces or valve seats. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 5, the valve faces are in the form of spherical members b provided with circumferential grooves d adapted to be loosely engaged by fingers c formed on a member loosely secured to a spindle c. The spindles e screw into the valve member a, where they are locked by nuts f. In a modification, the valve seats are formed on members adjustably screwed into the valve casing. In a further modification, each valve face is secured to a member separately pivoted on a common pivot, and adjustably coupled to an actuating-member.
