Yarns and threads, treating with liquids; yarns and threads, calendering and polishing.- Cotton goods, mercerized or not, are treated in a soap bath followed by an acid bath, to impart to them a silky touch, and are then lustred in calender mills, the rolls of which may be furnised with fine grooves. Suitable compositions and strengths of the soap and acid baths are given.
