Overhead incandescent lamps; lantern cowls.- The lamp casing K is provided with apertures corresponding to the burners, and a rotatable metal band K<3> having an oval hole is mounted on the casing so that the oval hole can be brought opposite any one of the burrers when it is required to regulate or remove the nipple, the band being provided with fastenings K<4> for retaining it in the normal position. The inner edge of an annular reflector O enters an annular space formed by a slot H on the underside of boss-pieces B, B' on the lower part of the flue and a collar H<1> on the lower part A of the flue where it intersects the boss-pieces B, B', and the outer edge is secured between a metal ring of angular cross-section and a reflector-holder K<1> by by means of spacing-screws K<2>, the reflector-holder being secured to the casing K by screws entering the heads of the spacing-screws leaving a space between the elements K, K<1> for the admission of air. The external air supply is heated in the space between the reflector 0 and the lower part A of the flue before passing through apertures O<2> to the burners. Flanges on the intermediate part A' of the flue are secured to the gas pipes D<5> and by bushes C<1> to the bosses B, B', the upper part of the flue tapering outwards. The metal cowl K<5> , K<6> is supported by brackets K<7> from the underside of the chamber. Specification 7515/11 is referred to.
