Resistances.-A heating - resistance a is wound on mica or other insulating-material on a hollow metal cylinder b and enclosed in a metal casing c having an insulating lining d, the return conductor passing through the cylinder b. The casing is soldered to a flange on a metal tube f, carrying a metal disk g, surmounted by an insulating block h provided with terminals i, to which connecting- wires a<2>, a<3>, insulated by glass beads or otherwise, pass through the tube f and an aperture k. The terminals i enter sockets m in a coupling n.
