Abstract

14,380. Siemens Bros. Dynamo Works, [Siemens-Schuckertwerke]. June 21. Conductors particularly applicable to windings for dynamo-electric machinery are formed of strands reinforced with metal stiffening- members. The reinforcing - member may be a central bar, or a surrounding sheath which may be made in one or more parts and need not necessarily completely surround the strands. In another form shown in Fig. 4, the reinforcing-member s<2> for the strands s' may be of I cross-section. Alternatively the reinforcing-member may be made by sweating some but not all of the strands together as at s<2> in Fig. 9. Some of the strands may be insulated as at s<3> and an additional reinforcement s' may be employed.
