Teeth, artificial.-In making a dental plate k having a preferably flanged knob m with a gold casing d, the aperture b in the metal form a is slightly larger than the casing, and the casing is held within it during packing and vulcanization by plaster of paris or other weak cement j so that the form can be detached readily from the finished plate. The form may be provided with a thin removable plate o across the aperture to keep the casing below the palatal level, with radial notches p and an aperture with tapering sides b', Fig. 10, to increase the hold of the cement, and with a rib s at its outer edge to form an annular groove t in the suction cavity of the plate. The flange of the casing may be turned over as shown at r, Fig. 11, to increase the cupping of the suction disk n.
