116,733. Everett, S. J., Kirkman, A, and Cottrell, H. O. May 15, 1917. Teeth, artificial.- Material for suction appliances in dentures consists of a thin sheet a of soft vulcanized rubber furnished with one, or, as shown, with a number of slightly cupped suction disks b each formed by an annular and angular inwardly projecting groove or recess c. The acute edges b' of the disks are slightly turned up, but the centres of the disks are flush with or slightly below the surface of the sheet a. The recesses c are large enough to receive the edges of the disks on pressure being applied. A suction device of any desired size or shape may be cut and is cemented in a recess moulded in the denture by means of a piece of pliable sheet metal of the same thickness as the rubber sheet and cut to a similar size and shape. Several such suction appliances may be applied to a denture.
