Machines for separating liquids from solids by density.-A device for clearing beer or other liquids comprises a revolving drum 16, 17 having a central disk 21 and radial partitions 18. The beer is forced in at 10 under pressure, traverses the path indicated by the arrows, and passes out at 11. The solids are deposited at the periphery, and the casing 1, 2 and the drum 16, 17 are easily taken apart to facilitate cleaning. The joints are packed to prevent leakage, and the space between the .revolving drum and the casing may be kept clear of liquid by forcing in carbonic-acid gas, or by pumping out the leakage. In a modification, the stationary outer casing is dispensed with, and the liquid is supplied and removed . by hollow shafts.
