Abstract

13,087. Tritsch, J. June 5. Spiked plates.-A seal for boxes, barrels, &c. comprises an annular plate provided around its periphery with teeth 2, which are adapted to be driven into the substance of the box &c., the plate having one or more cross-bars 3 and in some cases being formed as shown with radial slits 4. A modification for use with barrel bungs and hoops comprises a strip 5, Fig 3, of sheet metal having annular ends 1 and adapted to be secured in position by teeth 21, 2, provided along the whole of the inner and the free parts of the outer edges of the annular portions. The metal is preferably weakened by a slot or perforation 7 at each of the points where the strip proper passes into the annular ends.
