[Cognate Application, 23,405/13.] Hatching and rearing appliances.-In a combined incubating and rearing apparatus, the hot brooder 3 with its run 4 is supported on the top of a cool brooder 1 and its run 2 and in turn supports an incubator 6, the incubator 6 and brooder 3 being heated by the hot-water system described in Specification 2366/14. An air-chamber 23 with air-inlets 24 is provided between the incubator 6 and the brooder 3, an aperture 25 allowing access of hot air from the brooder, where it is mixed with cold air from the inlets 24 before passing up through a water-tray 22 into the incubator. The tray 22 is provided with a pipe 26 having a baffle and with a reticulated cover 27. The hot-air. outlet 9 is provided with a telescopic extension 9<x> The brooder 3 is provided with a window 32 and airinlets 21 and is separated from the run 4 by a slit curtain 5. The cool brooder 1 also has a window 32 and may be heated by hot-water pipes placed in its upper part.
