12,727. Scott, R. W. May 31. Knitted fabrics.-Relates to the production of a selvedged knitted web by setting up loops upon the needles of a knitting-machine. According to one method, Fig. 1, loops 1, 3, 5, 7, &c. of the first course are formed by feeding yarn to the odd-numbered needles, and the loops 2, 4, 6. &c. of the second course are formed by feeding yarn to the remaining needles. In a modifted method, the odd-numbered needles also draw loops in the second course, as shown in Fig. 2.
