Abstract

11,217. Jackson, C. A. May 13. Rudders.-A bearing for the stock comprises a flat ring c secured to the deck and a corresponding ring c secured to the stock. This ring c has a projecting ring f which engages a recess d in the flat ring for the purpose of supporting the stock and maintaining its alinement. A groove n is provided which acts as a container for lubricants and is fed through holes m. The ring c is preferably made in halves. which are holted and keyed, as shown in Figs. 1. and 2. Roller or hall bearings may be placed between the ring f and the recess d, and a spring may be placed between the two rings c, c. Locking-segments o prevent upward movement of the ring e. A complete locking ring or flanges on the deck plate may be used. More than one ring f and recess d may he employed.
