10,379. Heinemann, F. May 2. Arsenic and phosphorus trihalide compounds of fatty acid derivatives are prepared by treating the compounds of acetylene fatty acids described in Specifications 18,732/12 and 10,378/13 with agents which convert them into esters, acid anhydrides, acid chlorides, anilides, &c., or by treating derivatives of acetylene fatty acids with arsenic or phosphorus trihalides or mixtures equivalent thereto. The products are useful in therapeutics. Behenolic acid anhydride is prepared by treating behenolic acid with phosgene in the presence of pyridine.
