7711. Southwell, T. April 2. Introducing dye compounds into apparatus. -Dye compounds are introduced into d y e vessels by passing them into the usual steampipe used for heating the liquor, from which they are ejected into the dye vessel by the steam. A funnel E with a strainer is fitted on a branch of the perforated steam-pipe A, and the dye is run into the pipe A through a valve F, which is then closed. Steam is admitted through another valve L. A perforated partition J may be fitted in the vat. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 11,402/99.
