Holders.-In a b a y o n e t - joint holder shown in Fig. 2, the connecting - wires d are connected directly to the spring plungers f at the contactmaking end. As shown in Fig. 3, the wire d passes through a gland g and is twisted at the end to form a knob d<1>. The knob is secured in the hollow plunger f, which is wider than an ordinary plunger, by screwing in the gland g. The usual springs j abut against washers k. The holder comprises a body a of porcelain or the like having recesses into which projections on a brass or other socket b fit.
