Portable gas-stoves; lighting fires; supports for articles to be heated.-A gas-ring adapted for lighting fires and for other purposes is shown in Fig. 2; it is adapted for use with stands or attachments such as are shown in Figs. 4 and 6. The ring a has an arched surface k bounded by projections g forming grooves on the outer and inner edges, and the flame orifices f lead from the ring into the inclined portions of the grooves. Radial inclined grooves h between the projections g, and slots j in the flange i allow dust to pass away. In a modification, the ring is cut to form sloping grooves h opposite the holes f. The part k may be ornamented, and the central part m may have a grid-like form. In combination with the burner, when it is desired to use it for boiling water &c., there is used a loose stand consisting of a triangular frame s, Fig. 4, standing on three feet n and provided with three inwardlyprojecting utensil-supporting arms o. The underside of the mixing-tube of the burner has a foot q, and also serrations r which engage with the bars s of the stand. In a modification, two bent arms u, Fig. 6, are pivoted at t to the underside of the flanges i of the burner so that the supporting-parts o pass over it and partly enclose it. Feet are also formed on these wires.
