5896. Winser, A. L. Sept. 10. Latches, swinging.-In the form shown in Fig. 1, a swinging latch C controlled by a spring G is operated by a handle E mounted on the latch pivot and can be locked by a turn-bolt H actuated by a key. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the latch has a rearward extension D, which carries a transverse spindle L with a fingerpiece at each end, so that depression of the spindle withdraws the latch nose. In a third form. the latch is connected by a link to a lever on the handle spindle.
