Smallware looms; letting-off warps; take-up motions.-In a loom for weaving elastic webs, rollers a on which the elastic strands are wound, or round which they pass, are rotated positively by worm-wheels b, each pair of worm-wheels being driven by a worm c turned intermittently by a lever e connected to the worm-shaft d by a roller or ball clutch. The levers c are operated by projections f or other parts on arms g, which are carried by a reciprocating rod h and are independently adjustable to vary the speed of the rollers a. A separate worm may be provided for each worm-wheel. The cloth or takeup rollers may be operated in a similar manner.
