Abstract

9036. Angus, W. M., and Lunney, G. April 11. Letting-off warps ; tensioning and guiding.-In a loom for weaving coarse fabrics, such as belting, hose, sail-cloth, or Hessian, the warps a are drawn from bobbins or cops b provided with devices to prevent overrunning, and are controlled by a let-off motion comprising spring-pressed rollers q, the shaft of the lowest roller being provided with a frictional retarding-device. The warps from the bobbins pass through guide-eyes e, between rollers f, through a guide-reed g, around lease-rods h, and around guide-rollers k, o. When the warps are let back by means of a hand-wheel t on the upper roller q, the correct tension is preserved by a weighted lever m acting on arms l carrying the roller k.
