Reinforced - concrete beams, columns, &c.- The reinforcement consists of channel-bars a, Fig. 1, having gaps b in the sides, the metal around the gaps being increased in thickness. A beam skeleton, shown in Fig. 3, consists of main bars such as shown in Fig. 1, with cranked similar or plain transverse bars a<2>, the ends of which are secured in the troughs of the main bars by clinching the plain portions f. Fig. 6 shows a column reinforcement similarly formed and bound with a rod or wire i.
